It’s cotton lined for extra warmth with a sturdy brass zip at the front which when closed will keep the warmth in and the wind out.
There’s an additional strap and stud fastening incase you want to leave the zip open for ventilation but have the waistcoat closed.

Two inside pockets, rear “game” pocket, two breast pockets, two deep cotton lined zipped pockets (room for a bottle of Gin in one side and glasses and tonics in the other!) plus two other double pockets, adjustable strap on each hip, and even a fishing rod retainer.
