You will find these beautiful skins on our show stand from October 2009 and throughout our 2010 show season. We don’t carry many of these so if you want one you need to get along to one of our shows as quickly as possible.
These wonderful Hehe Tribal Storage Baskets come from Happy Starkie’s local village. We took these pictures of the villagers making them during our visit to Tanzania in January 2008.
They really appreciate our buying them at a fair price and one of the ladies remarked to Happy that she is now able to give her children milk!
Hours of painstaking work go into these baskets which are made from a type of elephant grass which has been soaked in water and dyed with natural colours before being split and woven into its unique pattern.
Happy always takes a range of baskets to our shows ranging in price from £3.95 up to around £30.00 for the big ones.
